Big Dump but Awful Weather

Last night we stayed in again, James and I had a little trip down the hot tub, during which the weather changed from snow to rain. I cooked dinner, which wasn't mince! It was a rather tasty chicken pasta dish, with rather too much pasta. We spent the evening watching the telly and WWE wrestling.

I didn't manage to get up that early, but awoke to the noise of a snow plough. Overnight there'd been a 6" dump, which wasn't forecast, but was very promising. In hindsight the huge clumps sliding off the roof of the hotel should have been a giveaway that the temperature was rising.

I headed out around 11:10, and the snow seemed somewhat slushy and heavy going on the way down to the Wizard chair. Up the wizard chair it all seemed fine, however it was raining as I went up the Solar Coaster. I took a run down Cougar Milk which wasn't too bad, then headed up the Glacier Express. It was ridiculously windy, but not actually that cold. However it was raining up the top, which was not a good sign. The run down was awful, through slush with loads of wind. I headed down the Glacier Run which I hadn't done before then down White Line, which should have been good as it was untouched powder, but it was really slushy. At this point I decided enough was enough and headed back to the hotel via School Marm. When I got back I found that James had had the same idea, and Paul hadn't gone out at all.

So we headed into town to hire a car for Sunday, as that way we can do a little shopping in Vancouver. We went to Quiznos for lunch and then stocked up on some beers. We're going to Earls for dinner tomorrow night, so just have to sort something out for tonight. Hopefully I'll get an hour or so skiing in tomorrow. I'm pretty tired now so I wouldn't be too fussed if the weathers really bad.
